The New Economy has a new underlying morality which has no basis in sound economic logic but rather is based on a socialist perspective where somehow we can "will" the economy to fix our problems. Those in power now believe they are God, all-knowing and capable of doing what is in our best interests. Lost is the principle that the economy is best equipped, without interference from those who think they know better, to rectify incompetence. The economy is described as complex, beyond the understanding of the common people, and this provides the swamp from which corruption breeds.
